In 2012, we were commissioned by Sotirale Family (organic oil and honey products in Greece) to redesign the labels of mead (honey wine) bottles. The redesign was necessary at that point because the label was really old and not well received by customers. It used byzantine style photos and lettering which also made the label hard to read, expensive to print resulting in a cheap look.
On the other hand, the product is really high quality and tastes great. The only element that had to remain unchanged was the old castle of Agia Paraskevi, located in Mesochori, Neapolis Laconia and considered a local landmark.
A final requirement from the client was that the label should have a “traditional” look and that I should not go for a more modern approach.
